Royal China – Dim Sum Fun

I always enjoy my trips to Royal China on Baker Street. It’s a big restaurant with plenty of space, and they always have a fantastic choice of dishes. I bloody love dim sum! And if you like Chinese in London – Royal China has to be one of the best choices. If not the only choice 😉 Away from the hustle and bustle of Soho and China town. It always has brilliant service and more importantly fresh, flavourful dim sum. It even helpfully has pictures of the dishes on the menu, and a great list of specials every time I visit. Gets my mouth watering just thinking about it.

It is a little more expensive than some of the other west end restaurants – which I think is in its favour; as it shows in the quality of the food. Unlike some massive dim sum chains, with RC I always come away completely satisfied and very full. They can handle busy lunch periods very well, where you just want to come grab fantastic food and go. Although busy and always very full (always a good sign in my mind). I have been to this restaurant a few times before and each time it never fails to impress me, and I have been to Canary Wharf a couple of times, but here they just seem more attentive.

One of their newest additions on their menu is the Taiwanese inspired mocktails  that contain balls of delicious tapioca-like jelly balls nestled at the bottom of the lovely cocktail glasses. These have delicious bursts of flavour as well as being thirst quenchers at lunch time. Adults can even chose to spice up the drink with a shot of rum, or vodka creating a delicious bubble pearl cocktail. Sadly it was a lunch for me, and I was trying to detox, but coming back for those.

The portion sizes as you can see from the pics are pretty generous so I would suggest less is more, but then I should take my own advice as everything is all so yummy, I can’t help myself and always end up over ordering lol. I can highly recommend the Chicken and Chive dumplings, steamed prawn, honey glazed pork puffs, and their steamed buns are like something from heaven. I go here any opportunity I can, brilliant for client lunches, weekend picky bits. Damn it do you need a reason? No of course not, when the food is this good just go!
