What a place to have a quiet drink on weekend before exploring what else London has to offer. If you get here reasonably early you’re generally guaranteed a seat if you can get there for 12, but if not feel free to book ahead. As imagined, after work and weekend evenings is its busiest. but going early can be a great alternative.
The OXO Tower for me is the perfect place to kick back, enjoy the sunshine on the terrace (still glorious in the rain from the bar). As the Shard is kinda taking alot of the limelight away from other bars looking over London, I thought I’d offer a quick glimpse into one of the best cocktail bars that over looks the Thames.
I ordered a Gin based cocktail, for the life of me I can’t remember the name, but it was sweet enough to enjoy in the sunshine and not too strong to make me double take about drinking at just gone midday. The mixologists here at OXO have something very special going on. The right balance of flavours and alcoholic infusions and even the waiters are happy to recommend if you find the menu a little daunting, as there are so many choices available.
The view is obviously amazing, especially on a clear day, but the floor to ceiling windows and glass ceiling here at OXO make it rather enjoyable whatever the weather. inside or outside.
Great for first dates to impress, take your mum along post or pre shop, and even with a good book. Do make sure you try out the food here too, not just the fizz, as its rather good too!
